Sweden’s National Day

Since 1983, Sweden has been celebrating its National Day on June 6, in honour of Gustav Vasa who was crowned king in 1523, which laid the foundation of Sweden as an independent state. Since 2005, Sweden’s National Day has been a national holiday. The Swedish king and queen also usually attend ceremonies at the Skansen, Stockholm’s open-air museum. It is customary for the Swedish flag to be flown on the mast on the National Day, and for children, dressed in traditional costumes, to present the royal couple with bouquets of flowers. The French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce hosted a traditional Gala Evening last night for its member companies, partners and friends. This year’s event had Cabaret as its theme, and the guests enjoyed a programme designed by stage artists with dance performances and magic tricks. On the occasion, the Chamber gave out its annual Grand Prix awards in two categories as well as special prizes for members. At the very beginning of the evening, the Chamber’s President, Dragan Stokić, gave a welcome speech in which he thanked sponsors for their support and guests who made another Gala Evening possible, adding that the Chamber’s members have always been and will be a pillar of the Chamber. 2nd Diplomatic Tennis Tournament 2022

The 2nd Diplomatic Tennis Tournament to help Children took place very successfully at Novak Tennis Centre, from 21-22 May 2022. It was attended by a record number of 44 participants, including several Ambassadors, representing over 30 embassies, diplomatic missions and international institutions, as well as the theater, cinema and arts, and CEOs or executives from the private sector. This charity event was organized with the aim of helping and supporting early childhood development and pre-school education, through the Novak Djoković Foundation. German Development Cooperation supports distance learning in Serbia

In order to support digital platform for distance teaching during the state of emergency in Serbia, the German Development Cooperation project “Dialogue on Employment Creation, Initiative and Dual Education” (DECIDE), provides equipment for two studios where classes for distance dual education will be recorded. The distance learning platform developed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Republic of Serbia enables continuing education for students in Serbia who can’t attend classes because of the corona virus outbreak. Specific challenge in these hard times is organization of work-based learning that should take place in companies cooperating with schools within the process of dual education. Tennis authorities confirm anti-Russia decision
