TO SAY GOODBYE: Farewell party by US Ambassador Kyle Scott
On September 23, US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott staged a residence farewell party called “TO SAY GOODBYE”.
The farewell party of the US ambassador was presented with knowledge of personalities from the public, cultural and political life of Serbia.
“Serbia has contributed largely to the world, and has yet many things to offer, Serbia is the world”, said US Ambassador Kyle Scott who leaves Serbia. Last night a farewell party was organised in the US residence by Mr.Scott and his wife Mrs Nena Scott.

President Barack Obama nominated Scott to be U.S. Ambassador to Serbia on September 15, 2015. Scott tested before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on December 2, 2015. Scott was confirmed and presented his credentials to the Government of Serbia on February 5, 2016.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Belgrade will hold a grand event promoting the country’s creative economy and tourism in the form of cultural festival “Kalimantan Wonderland“ at Kalemegdan fortress, Belgrade, 31 August 2019, at 6 pm.
The theme of the event is the introduction of Indonesia’s largest island “Kalimantan“. PRIZREN CHURCH THEOTOKOS OF LJEVIS
The church of Theotokos of Ljevish, Prizren’s Cathedral, was erected by King Milutin in the early 14th century (1307-1309). It was built on the foundations of a three-nave basilica from the X-XI centuries, which was probably dedicated to Theotokos Eleusa (the Merciful) and itself erected on the site of an older non-christian temple. The church from the X-XI centuries was partially restored in the XIII century, during the reign of King Stefan, the Firstcrowned, when the Diocese of Prizren joined the autocephalous Serbian Church. During the reign of King Milutin, a thorough restoration of the temple was carried out, and inscriptions on the eastern façade, made in brick, testify to this King’s endeavor, carried out by the Prizren Bishops Damian and Sava, the latter Archbishop of Sava III. The names of Byzantine artists, proto-masters responsible for erecting and painting the seats of bishops of Prizren in the fourteenth century are also known – the architect Nikola and the painter Astrapa..

Algerian Independence Day Marked
On the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the Independence of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Belgrade, the ambassador of Algeria, H. E. Abdelhamid Chebchoub, made a solemn reception at his residence, marking the day when, on July 5, 1962, the Algerian Revolution fighters won the victory.
The anti-colonial struggle of the Algerian people – the Algerian War for Independence – is considered to be one of the greatest events in the history of the 20th century.
