The Embassy of Denmark in Belgrade has today granted 1 million DKK (EUR 134.000) to a Danish Refugee Council project in support of Migration Response Capacities in Serbia.
Through the project the Government of Serbia and Local Self-Governments will be supported in the realisation of Local Action Plans on migration management and in the improvement of refugees’ access to information, protection mechanisms and needed reception assistance.
The Ambassador of Denmark Michael Borg-Hansen states “Serbia is doing commendable efforts in responding to the humanitarian needs related to the influx of refugees and migrants and the EU is providing substantial support. With this human rights project the Embassy of Denmark wishes to support ongoing efforts towards strengthened asylum and migration capacities. Danish Refugee Council has many years of experience working in Serbia and will along with Serbian partners give an important civil society contribution.”
Mr Ivan Gerginov, Assistant Commissioner for Reception, Accommodation and Sheltering, Return and Durable Solutions of Refugees participated in the signing event.
