Crowdfunding.rs is organising an online Crowdfunding Meetup for the gaming industry on Thursday 12 November 2020, starting at 3 PM. Speakers at the meetup will include the Director of the Brodoto Agency and crowdfunding expert Dušan Vulović and project manager and crowdfunding expert Luka Božović, with a guest appearance by Predrag Lazović from the Forsage Games studio. The Crowdfunding Meetup is being implemented in cooperation with the Serbian Games Association (SGA). The Online Crowdfunding Meetup will be opened by Andriy Garbuza from the German – Serbian Initiative for Sustainable Growth and Employment.
The latest SGA report on the gaming industry in Serbia states that as much as 30% of the investment in the gaming industry in Serbia comes through crowdfunding. Crowdfunding campaigns in the field of social and video games register record numbers despite the coronavirus pandemic, therefore these categories hold first place on the Kickstarter platform with nearly a billion and a half dollars collected.
The Crowdfunding Meetup is intended for teams and companies from the gaming industry, whether they are planning to start their first crowdfunding campaign or wish to learn more, so as to opt for this step. Regardless of whether these are formal or informal teams, whether they have already developed a game or are considering it, whether they have led successful or unsuccessful campaigns before, the meetup will be a place where they can get answers to any questions about crowdfunding.
The meetup will be dedicated to an introduction to crowdfunding, the prospects for crowdfunding in the local gaming industry, and challenges faced by the authors of crowdfunding campaigns. Predrag Lazović will speak about the challenges and reasons for starting his campaign, as well as his experiences. The five crowdfunding campaigns launched by his studio thus far have collected over USD 280,000, and his games have sold thousands of copies across the world.
All those interested in participation should apply by way of this form by Tuesday, 10 November 2020. The number of participants is unlimited. The link to access the online Crowdfunding Meetup will be distributed to all those who appy on the morning of 12 November. The online Crowdfunding Meetup will be held through the Zoom platform. The event is envisaged to take two hours.
