The Embassy of Sweden will present the program “Study in Sweden” at the upcoming International Fair of Education EDU Fair, on Friday and Saturday, 11-12 March at Crowne Plaza in Belgrade.
During two days of the fair, numerous programs for bachelor and master studies will be presented. On Friday, 11 March, 14.30, visitors will have an opportunity to listen to what Johan Gunnarsson, responsible for international marketing and recruitment at Lund University in Sweden has to say about why the Swedish educational system stands out and what makes it among the best in the world. On Saturday, 12 March at 10.30, prospective students will have a possibility to get first hand information from Dena Dervanovic, a student from Montenegro on a
scholarship in Sweden on the possibilities and advantages of studying in Sweden.
As an exclusivity, Alma Puskar and Åsa Fagerström, Foreign Credentials Evaluators at the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) will give free evaluation of the credentials of 25 students who will be the first to sign up via the EduFair homepage, on Friday, 14.00-14.30.
H.E. Mr Christer Asp, Ambassador of Sweden is proud of the fact that one out of ten students in Sweden comes from abroad, which proves that the educational system in Sweden is attractive to students from all over the world, due to the fact that many courses are held in English at most universities.
“The education system in Sweden today aims at encouraging the student’s creativity as well as developing their independent opinion that does not always have to coincide with the professor’s”, he concluded.
Study in Sweden is a comprehensive, official resource on studying in Sweden for prospective international students that promotes 900 study programs on master level and a hundred programs of bachelor studies in various fields.
Each year, approximately 34.000 new students come to Sweden from abroad to enrol one of 1000 programs offered in English. There are also 6,500 foreign students per year who decide to complete PhD studies in Sweden. The Swedish education system offers students a chance to develop skills and tools for a global career, wherever they might be living, both in the present and in the future.
