Representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Slovenia held bilateral political consultations in Ljubljana, on 15 March 2016.
Assistant Foreign Minister for Bilateral Cooperation (acting) Ambassador Goran Aleksic headed the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, while the Slovenian side was headed by the Political Director/Director General for Common Foreign and Security Policy (acting) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Tomaž Lovrenčič.
The topics that featured in the talks included the migrant crisis, political relations in the region, economic cooperation and the succession-related issues. The interlocutors agreed that a regular exchange of views on all issues of mutual interest had made a positive contribution to the overall development of bilateral relations which were assessed by both sides as excellent.
The delegations agreed that the two Governments’ joint sessions significantly contributed to the enhancement of their bilateral economic and political relations.
The delegation of Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also had a separate meeting with Mr. Janez Lenarčič, State Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister of Slovenia.
