In Batocina, within the project “European Union Support to Inclusive Society”, was held the media promotion of the project “Services of support and assistance for the elderly”

The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by Municipality of Batočina, Municipality of Rača, Municipality  of Lapovo, Center for Social Work Šumadija and association Viktorija with the support of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs as the main beneficiary of the project. This action is part of the project “European Union Support to Inclusive Society”, supported by the European Union with a grant fund of 4.331.275,56 million euro and managed by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia.

It is anticipated, that during the implementation of the project, 12 people who will be engaged in the activities of assistance and support for the elderly, will be employed. Engaged persons will be selected by the level of of social vulnerability, from the group of long-term unemployed women and will complete adequate training before the start of service delivery in the field. This will improve the social and economic status of the persons engaged and their families.

The target group of the project is about 100 elderly people from the territory of the three municipalities. The problems of the elderly are the result of chronic diseases, poor economic situation and social isolation. Engaged persons will assist the elderly in their daily activities (home hygiene, personal hygiene, meal preparation, procurement, etc.) while the mobile team will provide advisory, preventive and psycho-social assistance. Members of the Mobility team will be a doctor, nurse and social worker.

All these activities will improve the quality of life of elderly people and will enable them to stay in dignity in their homes, which is the main objective of the project.

Changes to existing local action plans will enable further financing activities after project completion.

The project duration is 18 months and the total value of the project is € 201,662.90.
