Unified Action and Sanctions are Instrumental to Holding Putin Accountable for his War
By: Ambassador Jim O’Brien, Head of Sanctions Coordination, U.S. Department of State
The United States, our Allies, and partners continue to stand with Ukraine. At the United Nations, 143 countries recently came together to proclaim what the world already knows: Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine was unprovoked aggression and an attempt to redraw borders by force, directly threatening Ukraine’s existence and challenging the principles of the UN Charter and global stability.
Our defense of core international law principles – including sovereignty and territorial integrity – requires unity, particularly as it does not come without costs. The price of inaction on the part of Ukraine’s allies and friends, the cost to our communities and countries would be far greater if we had not taken united action to disrupt Putin’s plans. Inaction is not an option.
The costs of Putin’s actions have b..

Russia’s efforts to annex parts of Ukraine denounced worldwide
Russia’s efforts to annex parts of Ukraine denounced worldwide
Countries worldwide rejected Russian President Vladimir Putin’s attempts to annex Ukrainian territories following sham referendums Russia orchestrated in four regions in Ukraine.
“The United States does not, and will never, recognize any of the Kremlin’s claims to sovereignty over parts of Ukraine that it’s seized by force and now purports to incorporate into Russia,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said September 30.
Moscow’s latest illegal bid to change Ukraine’s borders by force prompted a quick international rebuke.
Sanctions: The United States, allies, including the United Kingdom, and partners announced September 30 additional sanctions and visa restrictions targeting:
Russian government officials and their family members.
Russian and Belarusian military officials.
Defense procurement networks, including international suppliers supporting Russia’s military-industrial complex.

UN General Assembly Resolution Condemning Russia’s Attempted Annexation of Ukraine’s Territory
UN General Assembly Resolution Condemning Russia’s Attempted Annexation of Ukraine’s Territory
PRESS STATEMENT, ANTONY J. BLINKEN, SECRETARY OF STATE
OCTOBER 12, 2022
Today’s remarkable vote at the United Nations General Assembly is a powerful reminder that the overwhelming majority of nations stand with Ukraine, in defense of the UN Charter, and in resolute opposition to Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine and its people.
Territorial integrity is a central pillar of the United Nations, and Russia’s violent contempt for Ukraine’s national borders and sovereignty cannot and will not be accepted. By adopting this resolution, the assembled nations made clear: they will not tolerate an attempt by any UN Member State to seize land by force. The vote delivers a resounding rebuke to Russia for its aggression against Ukraine.
The United States is proud to have voted in favor of this resolution. As we have stated repeatedly, we will defend the principles of the UN charter and will neve..

Statement of President Joe Biden on the United Nations General Assembly Vote Condemning Russia’s Illegal Attem
Today, the overwhelming majority of the world—nations from every region, large and small, representing a wide array of ideologies and governments – voted to defend the United Nations Charter and condemn Russia’s illegal attempt to annex Ukrainian territory by force. 143 nations stood on the side of freedom, sovereignty, and territorial integrity—even more than the 141 nations that voted in March to unequivocally condemn Russia’s war against Ukraine. Only 4 chose to side with Russia—Belarus, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Nicaragua, and Syria.
By attacking the core tenets of the UN Charter, Russia is tearing at the very foundations of international peace and security. The stakes of this conflict are clear to all—and the world has sent a clear message in response: Russia cannot erase a sovereign state from the map. Russia cannot change borders by force. Russia ..
„All of us, together, make Serbia“
Respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law and respect for human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities, are the very foundations of the democratic society. The importance of active participation in the census and free declaration of nationality of members of minority communities contributes to the preservation and development of their own identity, and greatly affects the quality of support and policies created at the state level, which aim to improve the position of members of national minorities.
Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with 23 national councils of national minorities and with the support of the project “Support for Strengthening Rule of Law in the Republic of Serbia”, is implementing the campaign “All of us, together, make Serbia” during October 2022, which aims to encourage members of national minorities to participate in the census and freely declare th..
Statement by President Biden on Russia’s Missile Strikes
Statement by President Biden on Russia’s Missile Strikes
The United States strongly condemns Russia’s missile strikes today across Ukraine, including in Kyiv. These attacks killed and injured civilians and destroyed targets with no military purpose. They once again demonstrate the utter brutality of Mr. Putin’s illegal war on the Ukrainian people. We offer our condolences to the families and loved ones of those who were senselessly killed today, as well as our best wishes for the recovery of those who were wounded. These attacks only further reinforce our commitment to stand with the people of Ukraine for as long as it takes. Alongside our allies and partners, we will continue to impose costs on Russia for its aggression, hold Putin and Russia accountable for its atrocities and war crimes, and provide the support necessary for Ukrainian forces to defend their country and their freedom. We again call on Russia to end this unprovoked aggression immediately and remove its troops from..
