The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco to Serbia celebrated its national holiday on 30 July with a reception at the Metropol Hotel in Belgrade.

The reception was hosted by H.E. Mohammed Amine Belhaj, Morrocan Ambassador to Serbia, who greeted the guests.

The Kingdom of Morocco celebrates, on July 30th of this year, the 20th Anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, marking two decades of progress and modernization. Indeed, the country is experiencing a real revolution in the political, economic and social fields. Thanks to the leadership and the enlightened vision of His Majesty, the Kingdom has established itself as a model and a pioneer in Africa and among other developing countries.

The Throne Day is a national celebration marking the enthronement of Mohammed VI on the throne of his ancestors. During this day, the King addresses a speech to the nation, during which he communicates the projects that Morocco is planning to achieve, as well as the various efforts made for the development of the country.

On this occasion, His Majesty performs various royal activities, including: the ceremony of allegiance, the swearing-in ceremony of the newly graduated officers of military schools, the royal pardon of a number of convicts, and the presidency of the various receptions specially organized for this glorious day.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI was enthroned on July 30, 1999, following the passing of his father, King Hassan II, on July 23, 1999.
