In an ever-changing global landscape, creative hubs have emerged as important platforms where inventive and imaginative people share workspace and access experience, tools and investment. In the past decade, hundreds of these innovative spaces have popped up around the world as makerspaces, incubators, labs, hackerspaces be it digital or physical. They are aimed to create collaborations between people from different backgrounds and disciplines.

Every October, Norway is gathering different hubs at Oslo Innovation Week (OIW), a five-days series of events — seminars and talks, pitching contest and hackathons, to workshops, breakfast meetings and company crawls.

This year, the OIW, which lasts from October 17-21, features different discussions varying from wool campaign in Norway and creating shared value partnership to gaming in health and rehabilitation and green architecture.

For the first time, Belgrade has also found its place on the map of cities gathering hub representatives from across Europe.

Themed ‘How Work Works?’ the Belgrade forum is organised by our grantee Nova Iskra and is taking place at the Yugoslav Film Archives in Belgrade from September 22-24.  It is bring together 100+ managers and representatives of European hubs from over 20 countries. “Creative hubs managers will have a chance to meet, network, exchange best practice and get to know each other, which we hope will spark new connections and exciting collaborations,” says Nova Iskra.

The Forum aims to map out the diverse ecosystem of hubs, showcasing their value and diversity, along with their important role in supporting creative entrepreneurs across Europe.  It will be made up of inspiring keynotes, case studies, panel discussions, intensive workshops, informal networking events and field trips which will combine to offer hub managers insight into space, community and business models.
