First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic is visiting Cuba, where he will be participating in the 22nd ordinary session of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) Ministerial Council.

Upon his arrival to Havana, the Serbian Foreign Minister talked to the Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States, Mrs. June Soomer.

Minister Dacic highlighted the importance that the Republic of Serbia attached to cooperation with this Association, tabling the proposal for further enhancement of cooperation with mutually agreed aims, and underlining the necessity for determining areas where cooperation could be additionally expanded.

The Minister informed his collocutor about the reforms carried out by Serbia with the aim of accelerating the process of European integration, and its best possible and successful materialization.

ACS Secretary General Soomer thanked Minister Dacic for his participation in the 22nd Ministerial Council of the Association of Caribbean States. Ms. Soomer underlined the role of the Association in creating a zone of peace in the Caribbean, emphasizing the importance of the principle of resolving all outstanding issues between states by legal means, and briefed the Serbian Foreign Minister on the programs and projects promoted by the ACS.

Harmonization and signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Serbia and the Association of Caribbean States was agreed in the meeting, with a view to further enhancement of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
