Ahead of 13th Belgrade Dance Festival, during which the audiences will have an opportunity to see world’s leading ballet productions and dancers, the youngest dancers and students of professional ballet schools have already had an opportunity to dance before one of the leading European classic ballet pedagogues.
Thanks to EU Delegation to Serbia donation, maestro Marco Ferrini from Italy held master class, from 2-8 March, in the premises of Ballet School of the National Foundation for Dance in Belgrade. The master class was attended by 72 young dancers from Belgrade, Novi Sad and Pancevo.
Marco Ferrini is a former student of the famous prima ballerina Liliana Cosi of the Teatro alla Scala from Milan, and a pedagogue at renowned Italian schools, including Accademia Teatro alla Scala and Rome National Dance Academy, as well as the company Aterballetto from Reggio Emilia. He is a frequent guest of European companies and ballet schools and jury member at numerous ballet contests.
Together with five renowned ballet pedagogues: Ivanka Lukateli, Marija Jankovic, Gulja Popovic, Biljana Knezevic and Snezana Paunic, Marco Ferrini passed on the knowledge to students divided into three age groups: beginners (9-12 years), intermediates (13-15 years) and advanced-professional level (16-25 years). Also, Ferrini designed the choreography to be performed in front of Belgrade audience by the professional level group.
The EU Delegation supports Belgrade Dance Festival for the fourth time in a row, thus promoting both artist exchange between Serbia and the EU and European Union underlying values: multiculturalism, diversity, tolerance and idea exchange among various cultures and generations. This year, the EU Delegation encourages young dancers in Serbia by supporting the organisation of Marco Ferrini’s master class.
