First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a courtesy call from the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Belgrade, Vladimir Gasparic.

In the substantive and friendly talk the two officials agreed that the bilateral relations between the two countries were comprehensive and that their quality had been promoted. Views were exchanged on the most pressing issues on the bilateral agenda. Both sides commended the cooperation carried out so far between the two relevant Ministries, particularly in the context of addressing the issue of succession to the former SFRY. They underlined that it was important to continue holding joint sessions of the Governments of Slovenia and Serbia in the current year as well, this being an essential bilateral mechanism for the deepening of all-round cooperation.

Both officials noted that the cooperation between the two countries in addressing the migrant crisis was successful and constructive, which was important for maintaining stability along the so-called Western Balkans route. Conveying appreciation for Slovenia’s consistent support to Serbia’s European integration path, Minister Dacic wished the newly-appointed Ambassador a hearty welcome and every success in the strengthening of overall relations between the two countries.
