The credentials to the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić were handed over today by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, Sussanne Shine, who conveyed the greetings of the Danish Queen Margrethe II.
Returning the greetings, President Vučić welcomed Ambassador Shine and wished her success in her diplomatic mission in Belgrade, adding that he was pleased with the intensification of the political dialogue between Serbia and Denmark.
“Serbia can learn a lot from Denmark, especially in areas crucial for European integration,” said President Vučić. He thanked Denmark for its continuous support to Serbia in the negotiation process for membership in the European Union and expressed the expectation that one of the priorities for the new Serbian Government will be reforms aimed at accelerating the European path.
President Vučić and Ambassador Shiner agreed that our progress towards the EU, along with the existing good economic indicators, would contribute to the greater interest of companies from Denmark to invest in Serbia. Ambassador Shine said that her goal is to bring more Danish companies to the Serbian market, emphasising that they are increasingly moving production from distant markets to Europe and that Serbia offers excellent business conditions. President Vučić said that the arrival of several Danish companies would mean a lot for the Serbian economy, especially for the development of entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic.
President Vučić and Ambassador Shine also discussed the situation in the region, as well as the global challenges imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, especially for the world economy.
