First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic today met in the Vatican with Secretary for Relations with States within the Holy See’s Secretariat of State Monsignor Paul Gallagher.
In the talks, they reaffirmed the importance of bilateral relations and cooperation and expressed readiness to step them up further through exchange of high-level visits and setting up mechanisms for regular political consultations.
Among other things, Monsignor Gallagher expressed the interest of the Holy See in working with the Republic of Serbia in the field of protection of Christian heritage in Kosovo and Metohija.
Minister Dacic expressed gratitude to Monsignor Gallagher for the Holy See’s principled position not to recognize the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo and extended an invitation to him to visit Serbia.
