Serbia went from 91st to 59th place, out of 189 countries, improving 32 places in the World Bank Ease of Doing Business compared to last year, which is an indicator that Serbia is improving and providing a safer business environment. Key areas where Serbia made an improvement and reason for the significant better ranking are dealing with construction permits and paying taxes. Especially, dealing with construction permits was an obstacle and reason for the previous poor ranking. However, reforms and a new digital system on construction permits that will be launch in the beginning of 2016 have created a better business environment.
