VII International School and Conference on Photonics – PHOTONICA2019
A scientific gathering on Photonics – PHOTONICA2019 is to open at the Grand Hall of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, on Monday, 26 August, at 8.30 a.m. Approximately fifty eminent lecturers from the whole world, as well as over 250 Serbian and foreign scientists, will participate in this seventh international school and conference. The organizers of the gathering are Vinča Institute for Nuclear Sciences, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Optical Society of Serbia.
Ever since 2007, when PHOTONICA was first held, it has been envisioned as a forum for education of young researchers, exchange of knowledge and ideas, as well as fostering of cooperation among scientists from universities, other academic institutions and research laboratories working in this field. This year, some of the most renowned names of basic and applied research in photonics who contributed to the development of light technologies are among the speakers.
Parallel to plenary sessions, a special symposium ’Machine Learning with Photonics’ (ML-Photonica 2019 – Machine Learning In Photonics Workshop ), which was conceived in cooperation with Professor Darko Zibar of the Technical University of Denmark, will be organized for the purpose of fostering cooperation among academy, industry and IT sector. The programme also includes two parallel events: a workshop ’The European synchrotron and FEL user organisation (ESUO) Regional Workshop’ (ESUO) and COST action ’Quantum Technologies with Ultra-Cold Atoms – AtomQT’ (AtomQT meetings and workshops – AtomQT).
More details on the conference and joint events are available at Photonica 2019.
