Within “Europe for Citizens“ Programme, the first two 2016 presentations have been held in Belgrade and Novi Sad. Apart from presentations of this major EU Programme, participated in by Serbia for the fourth year, the events also saw the presentation of Programme’s new multi-year priorities * All potential participants (local self-governments, civil society organisations, universities) have been invited to submit project proposals by 1 March

On 25 January, Belgrade presentation gathered mote than 50 representatives of CSOs and local self-governments from across Serbia. They were shown new 2020 priorities of the “Europe for Citizens”Programme , among which the following topics might be of particular interest: marking of the beginning of the war in ex-Yugoslavia 1991, democratic transition and EU accession and crisis solidarity.

Apart from the structure and goals of the Programme, participants have had an opportunity to learn more about the experience of organisations which had previously took part in the Programme: Municipality Savski venac with their “WONET“ Project; Association for Promotion of Inclusion of Serbia with their Project “Towards European Values – Persons with Disabilities as Equal Citizens”, and association “Prospero” as the project holder of the “TwinCom” Project.

On 3 February, info workshop on “Europe for Citizens” Programme was held in Novi Sad, where 2016-2020 priorities were detailed. The session gathered 53 representatives of CSOs and local self-governments. The workshop was organised by Office for Cooperation with Civil Society in cooperation with Provinvial Secretariat for inter-regional cooperation and local self-government. Participants show particular interest in topics which deal with marking of the beginning of the war in ex-Yugoslavia, democratic transition, EU accession and crisis solidarity.
