Towards Sustainable Return & Reintegration: The annual Re:integrate conference
German experience in the field of return and sustainable reintegration shows that, although the social and economic reintegration of returnees is a great challenge, cooperation between state institutions, the private sector and civil society in Serbia brings significant results in this area. This was one of the conclusions of the online Re:integrate conference „Towards Sustainable Return and Reintegration” that took place on November 16. The annual conference is organized by the Global Program “Migration for Development” implemented in Serbia by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH since 2016. The Program is part of the global initiative “Returning to New Opportunities” of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Difficult Access to Green Projects for Women
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF Serbia Leasing) held a National Workshop on Gender Equality.
GEFF Serbia Leasing aims to reduce gender disparities and improve women’s access to funding for climate change-related projects, thus contributing to women’s greater involvement in the green economy.
The conference was opened by Zorana Mihajlović, PhD, Minister of Mining and Energy and President of the Coordination Body for Gender Equality of the Republic of Serbia, who pointed out that progress has been made regarding the inclusion of women, and that there is still a lot to do ahead of us.

Correction of information from the interview with H.E. Hidajet Biščević
After the Ambassador’s interview was published in the English language, he contacted us and pointed out that one sentence from his interview had been mistranslated. This time around, we are publishing the correctly translated interview with an apology to the ambassador.
An unintentional technical error made by the translator in the November issue of Croatia InFocus, published by Diplomacy&Commerce magazine, led to the publication of an erroneous translation. We would hereby like to apologize to the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Serbia, His Excellency Hidajet Biščević, and are publishing the entire interview with the correctly translated sentence.
