GIZ Gets Recognition for its Work in the Social Welfare Field
On the occasion of the Day of the Pećinci Municipality, May 22nd, the highest municipal awards were awarded to companies, associations and individuals, whose work has made a significant contribution to this municipality in various fields over the past year. Recognitions were awarded in three categories: Award for Humanity, Recognition for Corporate Social Responsibility and Acknowledgment for Successful Cooperation.
The German-Serbian Development Cooperation Project “Social Services for Vulnerable Groups“, received recognition in the “Successful Cooperation” category. Since 2018, Pećinci and GIZ have been working on improving social services for vulnerable groups, so that they are tailored to the needs of the clients in accordance with their needs. GIZ supported the development of documents in the field of social welfare, and the introduction of a new service: youth counselling. Due to the global pandemic and instead of having a big traditional annual reception, the British Embassy in Belgrade she marked the Queen’s official birthday with a gala concert by the Countess of Wessex String Orchestra.
The British ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Sian McLeod, she hosted the concert, on Monday, June 7, at 5:30 PM, at the British Embassy in Belgrade, in front of a limited number of guests and with adherence to all epidemiological measures.

The 28th Kopaonik Business Forum ends on a successful note
“Despite the Covid-19-induced pandemic, the 28th Kopaonik Business Forum was successfully held and once again proved to be the most important regional conference, which talks not only about strictly economic issues but about much broader topics related to the long-term development of society,” Aleksandar Vlahović, President of the Serbian Association of Economists, said after the Forum, also known as ‘The Serbian Davos’, finished.
In a changed format, at a different time and, this time in Belgrade instead of on the Kopaonik Mountain, the Forum was held from May 24 to 27, and its main theme was “The world after Covid-19 – new sources of growth in changed business conditions”.

Sweden’s National Day
Since 1983, Sweden has been celebrating its National Day on June 6, in honour of Gustav Vasa who was crowned king in 1523, which laid the foundation of Sweden as an independent state. Since 2005, Sweden’s National Day has been a national holiday. The Swedish king and queen also usually attend ceremonies at the Skansen, Stockholm’s open-air museum. It is customary for the Swedish flag to be flown on the mast on the National Day, and for children, dressed in traditional costumes, to present the royal couple with bouquets of flowers.
