UK launches FCDO to combine diplomatic influence, development expertise
The UK today inaugurated Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), merging Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and Department for International Development (DFID) for combining diplomatic levers and aid expertise to fight against coronavirus, conflict and climate change globally.
On the occasion, the UK’s Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who will lead the new FCDO, announced that Britain would pioneer a global call to take action to protect the world’s poorest people from coronavirus and the increasing threat of famine, said a press release disseminating by British High Commission here today.
“We can only tackle these global challenges by combining our diplomatic strength with our world-leading aid expertise,” Raab said.
The UK has committed to spending 0.7 percent of its national income on aid, and the formation of the FCDO today will make sure its diplomatic influence and development expertise are combined to the best effect on the global, said the release.

The ceremony was opened by the minister of economy in Serbia, Goran Knežević, the Danish Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Anders Hougaard, mayor of Inđija, Vladimir Gak, and the director of Grundfos in Serbia, Veljko Todorović together with the COO of the company, Stephanne Simonetta.

Institut Konfucije u Beogradu (IK), povodom obeležavanja Dana Instituta Konfucije, sa zadovoljstvom poziva sve one koji gaje ljubav prema kineskoj kulturi i jeziku da se prijave na konkurs Kina u mojim očima. Zainteresovani mogu putem imejla direktno poslati svoj rad: likovne radove, fotografije, video zapise (ne duže od 5 minuta), eseje ili pesme (na srpskom ili kineskom jeziku) čiji sadržaj odgovara temi ovog konkursa.
Radove mogu poslati na adresu: institutkonfucije@fil.bg.ac.rs sa naglaskom: „za Konkurs Kina u mojim ocima”. Takođe u mejlu treba navesti puno ime i prezime, godine starosti i mesto boravka učesnika Konkursa.
IK će obezbediti nagrade za najbolje radove (I, II, III mesto). Prva nagrada je besplatna školarina za jedan kurs kineskog jezika u IK, a svi učesnici u Konkursu će dobiti prigodne poklone. Rok za slanje radova je 28. septembar. Rezultati Konkursa će biti objavljeni 1. oktobra 2020. godine.
